Guillain Barre Syndrome and Flu Vaccines

My son has recently been severely stricken by Guillain-Barre Syndrome which is (currently) incurable.

We live in different states and I had been trying to reach him for several weeks.

I wasn't notified of his condition until just days ago.

He had not been feeling well for some time leading up to the day he went into the emergency room and within an hour of arriving he was completely paralyzed and in a coma which lasted 45 days.

As is often the case, he developed pneumonia during this time and nearly died.

When not fatal, usually, the victim, through lots of hard work and physical therapy, will recover in about a year, but there is no guarantee they will not relapse or that they will not suffer permanent effects or complications.

It is a rare autoimmune attack on the peripheral nervous system, stripping away the sheath.

If you have had any family history of autoimmune related illnesses, be sure to let your doctor know before taking a flu shot or any other vaccine.  Our family tree includes Lupus Erythematosus and Letterer Siwe Disease, now known as Multifocal multisystem Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH).

When I spoke to the physician taking care of my son, he was rather taken aback when I asked him if this could have anything to do with a flu shot saying if anything a flu shot would lower the risk.  That said, be sure you thoroughly trust the advice of the doctor you get it from.  Simply having a degree in medicine isn't enough.  As I have seen many times, not only do most people getting vaccines not know what is in them, but not all administering these vaccines have taken the time to find out either.  That doesn't seem like good practice to me.  Perhaps, with all the controversy, physicians are becoming more familiar with the drugs they give their patients, but remember, it's your life and nobody loves you or those you love as much as you do.  Do your own research and make an informed decision.  It's your choice.  It's your body.  It's your life.

My son has a long road ahead of him.  For him the battle will last 2 long years having the worst form of GBS.  He is now out of CCU and off the ventilator and off dialysis (his kidneys appear to have made a full recovery), and will soon be transferred to a rehabilitation facility where he will live while he fights to regain himself.

While this video is not of my son and his personal experience, it will help put some perspective on what victims of this syndrome endure:

Guillain Barre Syndrome is #1 side effect of vaccine injury compensations due to flu shots according to statistics released March 2014 by the US Dept of Health and Human Services: http://healthimpactnews.com/2014/guillain-barre-syndrome-is-1-side-effect-of-vaccine-injury-compensations-due-to-flu-shots/

If you or someone you know has GBS, feel free to leave a comment and share your story and what you believe caused it, and even if you don't think a vaccine caused it, please be sure to mention if you/they ever at any time whatsoever had gotten a flu shot or any other vaccine of any kind, and if so, how many and what years and when did you/they contract GBS?  By examining ALL vaccine records, more might be learned, so let's lay it all out there and see where it leads for GBS, Autism, and numerous other neurological disorders.

The interview below is about a former nurse (also found in one of the links above) who received 2 flu shots in consecutive years.  She then contracted GBS and suffered a stroke and is now permanently disabled, having one of the worst cases of a survivor ever seen.  She now lives in constant pain:
