The following video takes a look at how larger earthquakes correlate with earth facing coronal holes of the sun and solar wind speed.

Two Significant Observations of Note:
While most major quakes can be anticipated using these observations
not every quake is going to fit into the pattern
and
many of them are associated with solar polar field events
that are separated by several days
(up to years in some cases)-
with the majority occurring within 2 weeks.
These observations are allowing for
the anticipation and determination of
most of the dominate quakes we experience here on earth
opening an 'early warning' window
which may eventually be utilized for an 'official' earthquake pre-warning system
saving lives.
